The Queens Marathon
The Queens Marathon is one of the biggest events held in the most diverse borough in the world twice a year. The race brings runners to Queens and brings Queens to runners!
The design features elements from the Queens flag such as the rose and colors (blue, red, and yellow). The ribbon on the medal lists the name of every neighborhood in the borough, and the sun is representative of the founders of the race, the Queens Distance Runners. If you spot someone running around New York in bright yellow and they wave at you, it's likely one of them.
